CTOnews.com February 24, according to the official announcement of Sai Fang Technology, RISC-V SIG successfully adapted the openKylin (Open Kirin) operating system on the VisionFive 2 development board, and launched a QEMU version image of the openKylin system RISC-V architecture. At present, the latest version of the system image can be used normally.

A trial version of openKylin's VisionFive 2 development board for RISC-V architecture has been launched and is currently available for download and trial. The test image is based on the previously released version 0.9.5, uses vendor open source firmware and kernel branches, and integrates the openKylin file system. After RISC-V SIG adaptation and testing, the basic system, wired network, USB interface, GPU and other basic modules have been able to use normally, and can support HDMI output and graphical interface display.

Neofetch images need to pay attention to that the current system only supports microSD card startup, eMMC and SSD startup methods need to be improved. Availability of some peripherals is unknown.

Users can download the QEMU version image on their own work machine, and then compile and install QEMU according to the QEMU compilation method provided, so that the openKylin system can be started normally through QEMU.

The two systems released by the openKylin community RISC-V SIG are equipped with the UKUI desktop environment. UKUI is a lightweight Linux desktop environment created by the community UKUI SIG group, mainly based on QT development. Compared with other UI interfaces, UKUI pays more attention to ease of use and agility, and each component is less dependent on each other, so it can run alone without relying on other packages, bringing users a friendly and efficient experience. At present, the UKUI desktop environment has been able to run normally on both systems.

At present, the two systems have supported the operation of many kinds of software, such as Libreoffice, firefox and community self-research, to meet the daily Internet and office needs of users.
