CTOnews.com February 24 news, recently, CMOS image sensor supplier SmartSens, launched the industry's first full-performance upgrade of 5MP DSI-2 technology Pro series security application image sensor new product SC5336P.

With 3K clear picture quality and 16:9 wide frame, Stevie SC5336P is the industry's first 3K image sensor equipped with DSI-2 technology.

According to reports, SC5336P is based on Stevie's upgraded DSI-2 technology (CTOnews.com Note: using 12-inch wafer technology), while equipped with Stevie SFCPixel patented technology and ultra-low noise peripheral reading circuit technology, claims to achieve far more dark light imaging performance than the same specification FSI process image sensor, and can rival or even exceed the same specification BSI process image sensor in terms of high temperature imaging.

By optimizing the process, Stevie SC5336P reduces the STI area between photodiodes, effectively suppresses the generation of white spots and dark current, and improves the uniformity of picture quality at high temperature. Compared with the same specification BSI products in the industry, its DSNU has been greatly reduced by 64%, and the white spot has been reduced by 25%, which can eliminate the imaging purple edge phenomenon caused by high temperature.

In addition, compared with the same specification of BSI products, the absolute value of electrical crosstalk (Blooming) of SC5336P has been reduced by 55%, which can improve the overflow phenomenon caused by the camera in backlight scenes and shooting lights at night. At the same time, SC5336P can also support dynamic row overlapping HDR (Staggered HDR) image output, and the dynamic range can be increased to more than 100dB.

At present, Stevie SC5336P has accepted the sample delivery and is expected to achieve mass production in Q1 in 2023. The following figure shows the specific specifications of the sensor:
