I've known about the technologies and mechanisms that underpin ChatGPT before. In this sense, I am not surprised.

The problem in the future is how to make practical use of it. By interacting with very large databases and blocks of information (Information Chunk), Internet search will undoubtedly provide a new model.

From a historical point of view, the development of AI is entering an important stage. Through the current research, it can be known that the performance of AI will be improved by leaps and bounds when the number of calculations trained to the power of 22 to 24 of 10 is reached. Although it is weak to improve below a certain amount of calculation, once it exceeds a certain amount, it will leap to a higher stage.

Most of the work we deal with on a daily basis may gradually be replaced by AI. Research on enabling AI to use tools such as software is also emerging. Although it is not a scene from "2001 Space Odyssey" (appeared by advanced AI), if AI can use tools, it may be a turning point. Various attempts or accelerated progress may be made in the next three to five years.

From the point of view of Sony Group, it will be used in business sooner or later. AI for "basic models" (advanced AI for generating articles and images, etc.) will also be developed continuously. It should be noted, however, that we are an enterprise that serves creators and will provide technology for creators.

The existing image generation AI seems to have cases of being sued for copyright issues, and we will not develop AI that tramples on the rights of creators. It is important to develop a fair, transparent and responsible AI.

It may not be clear what Sony has done in AI, but in fact the company has at least done a lot of research in games. For example, in February last year, Sony Group developed artificial intelligence (AI) to beat human "masters" in racing games. Sony Group President and President Kenichiro Yoshida called it "a great leap forward for AI."

It is worth mentioning that Sony also opened a Sony AI department in 2019, which is headed by Hirohiko Kitano, president and CEO of Sony computer Science Lab, and Peter Stone, a computer science professor at the University of Texas at Austin.

As far as CTOnews.com knows, Hiroaki Kitano, a former director of Sony CSL Labs, has been engaged in research related to Sony's core business since the mid-1990s. Sony's earliest artificial intelligence unit, Aibo, was born in this laboratory. Kitano is also the founding president of the Robotics World Cup (RoboCup) federation. He hopes to develop a fully autonomous humanoid robot team and win the World Cup in 2050, with the goal of accelerating the progress of artificial intelligence and robotics.

Prior to this, foreign media reported that there will be three core areas of Sony AI in the future: first, games, which use AI to assist developers in design, testing, and analysis; first, imaging and sensors, which will extend the legend of "Sony Dafa" in the hardware market for another second; and finally, food, and jointly develop a cooking robot equipped with artificial intelligence with Carnegie Mellon University to realize "one-stop" cooking, serving and delivering food.
