CTOnews.com February 23, Samsung Networks announced that it has delivered the first batch of 24000 Open RAN-compliant 5G radios to DISH Networks to launch a national 5G network in the United States. Samsung also provides 5G vRAN software solutions for DISH's 5G network in the country.

Since the two companies announced a multi-year agreement in May 2022, Samsung Networks has been providing 5GO-RAN radios to DISH to expand its network infrastructure. The two companies have been working together for nearly a year on infrastructure installation, testing and site launch. Samsung offers vDU (Virtualized distributed Unit), vCU (Virtualized Central Unit) and OpenRAN-compatible 5G radios. Samsung has also customized 5G radio devices compatible with dual-band and tri-band OpenRAN to meet the requirements of DISH.

DISH 5G is gradually covering 70 per cent of the US population. DISH Wireless and Samsung Networks will soon continue to work together to promote 5G networks in the United States. The 5G network will provide fast and reliable Internet access for millions of American consumers.
