Sortlist surveyed 500 ChatGPT users from the UK, Belgium, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands and France. 23% of technicians and only 14% of financial companies believe that ChatGPT is a threat. But employees in the most vulnerable marketing and public relations departments shrugged off the threat, and while half of companies considered laying off employees in these departments, only 1/4 worried about their jobs.

Of these, 43 per cent of companies want to use ChatGPT to write marketing copywriting, but only 36 per cent of employees realize that chatbots can play a "talent" in this field.

Among employees of all ages, millennials (born between 1965 and 1980) are the most worried about ChatGPT taking their jobs, accounting for 43 per cent. Among them, millennials in the financial sector are twice as likely to worry about layoffs. They think ChatGPT will replace not only the author of the marketing copywriter, but also the staff who analyze the data.

In addition, employees between the ages of 18 and 24 are the most optimistic, believing that ChatGPT will double their productivity. The least optimistic age group is 45 to 54 years old, and less than 5% think so.
