CTOnews.com, February 23 (Reuters)-Amazon announced on February 22 local time that it had completed a $3.5 billion acquisition of primary health clinic operator One Medical (CTOnews.com note: current about 24.15 billion yuan).

The day before, a spokesman for the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) said the agency would not sue in time to block the deal.

The acquisition, announced in July last year, provides the online retailer with online medical services and a venue for face-to-face medical services.

Andy Jassy, Amazon's chief executive, said in a statement that the deal would help the company improve, accelerate and personalize patient care.

Amazon pointed out that there are no layoffs for One Medical after the deal is completed. One Medical said CEO Amir Dan Rubin will remain at the company and report to Neil Lindsay, senior vice president of Amazon Health Services.

As of the end of last year, One Medical had 836000 members and net income of $1 billion in 2022 (currently about 6.9 billion yuan), according to the data.
