CTOnews.com, February 23 (Xinhua)-- Samsung today released new Exynos processors Exynos 1380 and 1330 for the Galaxy A series of smartphones, both of which are mid-range and support 5G.

Exynos 1380 uses 5 nm process, has four ARM Cortex-A78 CPU cores, frequency 2.4GHz, four ARM Cortex-A55 CPU cores, frequency 2GHz, auxiliary Mali-G68 MP5 GPU, frequency 950MHz, FHD + display screen that supports 144Hz refresh rate, supports LPDDR4x and LPDDR5 DRAM chips, and UFS 1380 storage.

Its integrated Triple ISP supports 200 megapixel camera sensors, built-in NPU computing power up to 4.9TOPS, slightly higher than Exynos 1280, 4K 30fps video recording with EIS, HDR and real-time object recognition.

Exynos 1380's built-in 5G modem supports millimeter wave and sub-6GHz 5G networks, with peak download speeds up to 3.67Gbps and upload speeds up to 1.28Gbps. Support for Beidou, Galileo, Gronas, GPS, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC and USB Type-C ports, this chipset will be used for Galaxy A545G mobile phones.

Exynos 1330 is a major upgrade to the Exynos 850s, bringing faster CPU, more powerful GPU, and 5G. Exynos 1330 is Samsung's first entry-level chipset using 5nm process, with two Cortex-A78 CPU cores with 2.4GHz, six Cortex-A55 CPU cores with 2GHz, and Mali-G68 MP2 GPU, FHD + resolution display with 120Hz refresh rate, LPDDR4x and LPDDR5 DRAM chips, and UFS 2.2 / UFS 1330 memory compatibility.

ISP inside the Exynos 1330 supports cameras up to 100 megapixels and dual camera settings of 1600 megapixels + 1600 megapixels, and MFC (Multi-format Codec) can record and play 4K 30fps video codec from HEVC, H.264 and VP8.

Exynos 1330 has a built-in 5G modem, supports sub-6GHz 5G network, and has the peak download speed and 1.28Gbps upload speed of 2.55Gbps. It also supports Beidou, Galileo, Gronas, GPS, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC and USB Type-C ports. The chipset has been debuted in the Galaxy A145G and CTOnews.com expects more low-end Galaxy A-Series smartphones to use the chip.
