CTOnews.com February 23 news, Meta recently released a v50 version update for Quest headers, introducing an experimental feature called Direct Touch. The interactive experience provided by this new feature brings us a step closer to the scenario described in the movie Minority report.

After enabling this experimental feature, users can interact like any touchscreen device in the Meta Quest 2 Home environment. Because there is no surface that can actually be touched, there is a lack of tactile sensation. The interface examples given by Meta look a lot like the scenes you see in some sci-fi movies.

CTOnews.com learned from the report that Meta has further optimized in-game multitasking in the v50 update, calling out the application interface on the 2D page without closing the game you are currently playing. This update also optimizes the Meta Quest Touch Pro controller, self-tracking and response time.
