On February 22, 2023, MediaTek will showcase the advanced technologies of Tianji, Filogic, Genio, Kompanio and Pentonic, as well as a demonstration of 5G technology outside of mobile devices, during the 2023 Mobile World Congress (MWC 2023). At the same time, MediaTek will also show off its satellite communications platform, as well as global leading brands of equipment driven by MediaTek technology from different fields.

Satellite communication, 5G, millimeter wave and other solutions

MediaTek's standards-based 3GPP 5G non-terrestrial network (NTN) solution provides two-way satellite communication support for devices such as smartphones, and new devices using its non-terrestrial network (NTN) solution and next-generation NR-NTN technology will also be the first to be unveiled.

MediaTek has ushered in a new era of satellite communications and has long been committed to providing users with fast and stable 5G connections. Among them, MediaTek will demonstrate advanced access traffic orientation, handoff and split technology (ATSSS). Recently, MediaTek and Deutsche Telekom successfully completed the proof-of-concept of the ATSSS 3GPP Release 16 (R16) standard using Tianji 9200 flagship chip, and the converged multi-access connection technology can enhance the seamless connection experience of users. As the first key use cases implemented in the lab, the ATSSS access traffic handoff feature enables handover between 5G mobile networks and Wi-Fi networks, helping to ensure stable voice and video call quality and providing users with an uninterrupted network connection experience. The solution is suitable for existing cellular access networks and Wi-Fi access points, making it easy to improve network performance and user experience in a cost-effective way.

MediaTek will work with Ericsson to demonstrate the use of 5G millimeter beam technology to improve connection performance and reliability. In addition, MediaTek will also demonstrate the millimeter wave 5G UltraSave power-saving technology based on the German Technology 5G network simulation solution to improve the battery life performance of 5G devices in high-speed data transmission applications by optimizing hardware and software design.

Smartphones and tablets

The MediaTek Tianji 5G mobile platform provides advanced Internet connectivity, multimedia, AI and imaging technologies for smartphones with different market positioning from flagship to mainstream.

During the exhibition, MediaTek will showcase the groundbreaking flagship experience brought by Tianji 9200 mobile platform, including MediaTek mobile hardware ray tracing technology, which brings amazing visual effects of mobile games; Intelligent Display Sync 3.0 variable refresh rate technology to adjust screen refresh rate according to game frame rate in real time, resulting in a smooth and silky picture experience; and innovative intelligent image semantic technology, which can optimize image quality through multi-person segmentation and multi-layer color management technology. At the same time, MediaTek will also show the flagship smartphones vivo X90 and vivo X90 Pro with Tianji 9200 mobile platform.

MediaTek will showcase folding screen mobile devices and tablets, including OPPO Find N2 Flip and Tecno PHANTOM V Fold folding screen phones with MediaTek Tianji 9000 + mobile platform, and OnePlus Pad and Lenovo Tab Extreme tablets with MediaTek Tianji 9000 mobile platform.

In addition, the MediaTek Tianji 7000 series mobile platform will be the first to be unveiled during the MWC2023 period. The first new platform, Tianji 7200, has excellent AI imaging functions, game optimization technology and 5G connection speed, and high energy efficiency enables terminal devices to achieve longer battery life. It adopts the second generation 4nm process of TSMC. The eight-core CPU architecture consists of 2 2.8GHz Arm Cortex-A715 cores and 6 Cortex-A510 cores, which integrates Arm Mali-G610 GPU and energy-efficient AI processor APU 650. Tianji 7200 is equipped with 14-bit HDR-ISP image processor Imagiq 765. it supports 4K HDR video recording and can support up to 200 megapixel cameras. In addition, the Tianji 7200 integrates advanced Sub-6GHz 5G modems with downlink rates up to 4.7Gbps and supports 5G dual carrier aggregation, 5G dual card dual standby and dual card VoNR.

MediaTek will also show Helio G36, a new member of the Helio family, designed for mobile devices in the mainstream market, eight-core Arm Cortex-A53 CPU up to 2.2GHz, and support for 90Hz refresh rate display to provide a fun gaming experience. In addition, the Helio G36 supports 5000 megapixel cameras with AI camera enhancements.

Wireless connection and Home Network Technology

The MediaTek Filogic series provides a stable and long-lasting wireless connection experience for end products such as residential gateways, Mesh routers, smart TVs, streaming media devices, smartphones, tablets, laptops and so on. The site will showcase the complete device ecosystem built by the industry's advanced MediaTek Filogic Wi-Fi 7amp 6e / 6 solution.

Internet of things, Chromebook and Smart TV

MediaTek Genio Smart Internet of things platform covers high-end, mid-range and entry-level chipsets, widely used in smart homes and smart environment devices, and is committed to bringing technology to everyone. The MediaTek Kompanio mobile computing platform provides high performance and excellent battery life for Chromebook with different market positioning. MediaTek Pentonic intelligent TV platform integrates advanced display, audio, artificial intelligence, broadcast and connection technologies to bring users a high-quality entertainment experience. MediaTek will present technical demonstrations and equipment related to Genio, Kompanio and Pentonic during MWC 2023.
