CTOnews.com February 22, VMware today released an update to ESXi 7.0U3k, which fixed a previous issue where the Windows Server 2022 virtual machine could not be started due to Secure Boot.

VMware indicated in the support documentation that this problem did not occur with virtual machines running on vSphere ESXi version 8.0.x. VSphere ESXi 6.7 discontinued mainstream support on October 15, 2022.

The affected Windows Server 2022 virtual machine can be upgraded to the VMware ESXi 7.0U3k version updated on February 21, and then you can try to install KB5022842 again, and the virtual machine will also start normally.

VMware previously announced that after the Windows Server 2022 device installed the KB5022842 update (system internal version 20348.1547), the guest system failed to boot on a virtual machine with Secure Boot enabled on vSphere ESXi 6.7U2 / U3 or vSphere ESXi 7.0.x.
