Among them, Fengyun 3G is expected to be launched in April this year, with four payloads, two newly developed and one upgraded; Fengyun 3F is expected to be launched in August, with 10 payloads, 2 newly developed and 3 upgraded.

Specifically, Fengyun 3G satellite is the first low-inclination orbital precipitation measurement satellite in China, which is mainly used for severe precipitation monitoring in severe weather systems and provides three-dimensional structure information of precipitation in the middle and low latitudes of the world.

Fengyun 3F is a morning orbiting satellite (CTOnews.com Note: observation time is in the morning), which will replace Fengyun 3C in orbit. On the basis of ensuring the global imaging of polar orbit meteorology and vertical atmospheric sounding, Fengyun 3F will focus on earth surface imaging observation, which is mainly used in weather forecasting, ecological environment, disaster monitoring and other operations and research.

After the successful launch of the two new satellites, China will become the only country in the world to operate four civil meteorological satellites in low-earth orbit at the same time. Up to now, China has successfully launched 19 Fengyun meteorological satellites of two generations, seven of which are operating in orbit, continuously providing data products and services to 126 countries and regions around the world.
