CTOnews.com, February 22, Microsoft today pushed Windows 11 22H2 build 22621.1343 (KB5022913) to Release Preview Channel, the update includes some new search-related features, and adds a link to Quick Assist in the setup application in the troubleshooter, making some changes to the system tray and power management to reduce the carbon footprint. Microsoft has also said publicly that it has worked hard to make Windows more reliable after installing updates.

New features! This update provides the effect of opening Windows Studio directly from the Quick Settings on the taskbar for devices with supported neural processing units (NPU). This makes it quick and easy to turn on and configure the camera effect. These effects include blurred background, eye contact, automatic scene selection, and audio effects (voice focus). You can still access these effects on the settings page.

New features! This update makes it easier for you to get help when you encounter computer problems. A link to the Quick Assist (Quick Assistance) application has been added at the bottom of Settings > system > Troubleshooter. You can also find Quick Assist in the list of all applications on the start menu.

New features! This update improves the search box experience on the taskbar. When you type in the search box, the search results appear in the search box. You can also change the search experience of the taskbar you want by going to the Settings > personalization > taskbar. For business customers, this update adds a new policy for IT administrators to manage how the search box on the taskbar appears in your organization.

New features! This update provides energy recommendations. They can help improve the energy efficiency of your PC and reduce your carbon footprint. Go to Settings > system > Power and Battery > Energy recommendations.

New features! This update enhances the system tray (formerly known as the notification area). All icons have a circular focus and hover design at the lower right, including the "Show Hidden Icons" fly-out menu. You can move icons in the Show Hidden Icons fly-out menu to rearrange them, or move icons to the taskbar.

New features! This update introduces a touch-optimized taskbar for two-in-one devices that you can use as a tablet. This taskbar has two states: collapse and expand. To switch between these two states, you can slide up and down the bottom of the screen. When you fold in tablet mode, the taskbar falls back, giving you more screen space so that you don't accidentally open the taskbar. When expanded in tablet mode, the taskbar is optimized to be easier to use with touch. When you disconnect or rewind the keyboard, your taskbar will automatically change to this optimized version.

This feature works only on devices that can be used as tablets and is enabled by default. To change this, go to Settings > personalization > Taskbar > Taskbar behavior. This setting is called "optimizing the taskbar for touch interaction when the device is used as a tablet". If your company manages Windows updates for your device, this feature is turned off by default. Administrators can open it with new business controls for continuous innovation.

New features! This update provides enhanced support for Braille devices. There is no interruption when you switch between Microsoft Narrator and a third-party screen reader. Narrator automatically changes the Braille driver.

New features! This update also adds support for new Braille displays and new Braille input and output languages in Narrator. Some of the new supported Braille displays include APH Chameleon,APH Mantis Q40 and NLS eReader.

New features! This update makes voice control more flexible and supports interaction with more user interface (UI) controls. For example, voice can interact with controls that contain the following.

A name with a number, such as "Click 5"

There is no space between names, such as "Click PivotTable" or "Click PivotChart"

Names with special characters, such as Bluetooth and devices ("Click Bluetooth and Devices") or dialing ("Click to dial hyphens").

New features! This update adds voice access support for rotation control, thumb control, and split buttons. You interact with these controls by using the "click" command or number overlay. This update also fixes issues that affect the buckle command that pushes the window to the left or right. The command to move the cursor in the text box can be run immediately.

New features! This update also provides enhancements to voice scrolling. You can use voice to scroll to the far left and far right on a page.
