Thank you, Mr. Air, a netizen of CTOnews.com, for your clue delivery! CTOnews.com February 21 news, learned from Geely Holdings official that the world's first 100,000-ton green low-carbon methanol plant jointly invested by Geely Holdings Group and Henan Shuncheng Group was officially put into production in Anyang today, which is the first set of carbon dioxide hydrogenation to green low-carbon methanol plant in China and the largest in the world.

The second phase framework agreement for the preparation of green low-carbon methanol, the establishment of a new energy commercial vehicle operation company and the whole value chain decision simulation platform project of coal coke were also signed at the ceremony. Geely's Alcohol hydrogen Technology and Shuncheng Group signed orders for 300 methanol heavy trucks and delivered 30 of them in the first batch.

According to reports, Anyang Green low-carbon methanol Plant synthesizes green low-carbon methanol by comprehensively using by-product hydrogen in coke oven gas of Shuncheng Group and carbon dioxide captured from industrial tail gas. The annual production of 110000 tons of methanol can directly reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 160000 tons, equivalent to an increase of 160000 mu of forest acreage.

In this regard, Li Shufu, chairman of Geely holding Group, believes that in the future, we will certainly make greater use of carbon dioxide and use unstable energy such as wind and solar energy to synthesize green methanol, bringing new and diversified technological paths to the world energy revolution and carbon neutralization.

CTOnews.com learned from data released by Geely that commercial vehicles account for only 12% of car ownership, but consume more than half of automotive gasoline and diesel and emit 56% of the car's carbon dioxide. At present, compared with traditional diesel heavy trucks, the fuel cost of long-distance methanol heavy trucks is reduced by 18%, 32%, saving up to 1 yuan per kilometer, and logistics costs are greatly reduced.
