According to foreign media reports on February 21, Tesla, which has four vehicle factories in operation around the world, has plans to build more factories to increase the production of electric vehicles and meet the needs of more consumers.

Although Tesla has not yet announced the location of their next factory, it has been reported that Tesla intends to build a factory in Mexico since the end of last year.

For the Tesla factory in Mexico, which was reported last year, the source revealed that the site selection has been narrowed and may be announced at Tesla's 2023 Investor Day on March 1.

According to insiders familiar with the matter, Tesla's plant in Mexico, which is still in the northeastern state of Nuevo Leon, will be built in the state's industrial park in Santa Catarina, which is likely to announce a 250-400 hectare plant.

Although Tesla and Nuevo Leon have not yet determined the final location of the factory, foreign media reported that Santa Catarina in Nuevo Leon has many favorable factors to attract Tesla to build the factory.

In terms of favorable factors, the first is that Santa Catarina already has a number of large-scale enterprises' factories, including Caterpillar's production facilities, Siemens offices and manufacturing parks, and secondly, convenient transportation, close to the entrances and exits of two major highways, one of which goes north to the US border to facilitate the export of cars produced by Tesla.
