"I'm about to give up Outlook. I've received an outrageous amount of spam in recent days," Zac Bowden, editor-in-chief of Windows Central, said in a tweet.

Forums, social media and article reports show that the problem currently exists mainly in Outlook personal accounts, which has not yet been reported by corporate users.

Reports so far indicate that the problem is limited to Outlook personal accounts, but it is not clear how serious the vulnerability is. Microsoft has not issued a statement on why spam has not been filtered into people's inboxes.
