In the case of plug-in, the rendering score of MSI notebook under Cinebench "Classroom" is 30308, while that of M2 Max is 14702, which is more than double the difference.

In the case of Geekbench running score, the single core performance score of M2 Max is 1993, the multi-core performance score is 15173, and that of microstar is 2153 and 28888, respectively.

Blender 3D rendering tests show that MSI machines outperform MacBook Pro in both CPU and GPU, with 308 seconds and 342seconds in Classroom CPU tests and 10 seconds and 49 seconds in Classroom GPU tests.

In Premiere Pro, M2 Max MBP slightly surpasses MSI in rendering a 30-minute 4K 60FPS 10-bit movie, but lags far behind MSI in terms of export (12 and a half minutes versus 19 and a half minutes).

Under the power supply of battery, the performance decreases obviously, and the power consumption is amazing.

Although the MSI laptop is indeed stronger than the M2 Max MacBook Pro when plugged in, it is quite the opposite when it is powered by battery.

In the Cinebench test, the battery performance of the M2 MacBook Pro was the same as when it was plugged in, while the score of the MSI laptop dropped from more than 30000 to 11000.

In the Miani test, the battery consumption of rendering the same 30-minute 4K 60FPS clip was also amazing. Starting at 100% of the battery, MBP with M2 Max lost 10% of its battery capacity, while MSI dropped from 100% to 42% when doing the same job.

In other words, if users want surging performance output, they should always be plugged in, and the existing batteries cannot support the robust performance output of i9 13980HX chips and RTX 4090 GPU.

Noise problem

There is also a noise problem, where the HX 13980 / RTX 4090 combination produces very loud fan noise when performing any heavy work from games to rendering. The M2 Max MBP has a peak operation of only 35W, which, by comparison, is too muted.

Fever problem
