According to the public news before the CTOnews.com inquiry, the Taipingling nuclear power project plans to build six third-generation nuclear power technology "Hualong 1" units with China's independent intellectual property rights. Units 1 and 2 of the first phase of the project have started construction on December 26, 2019 and October 15, 2020, respectively, and Unit 1 is scheduled to be put into operation in 2025.

Hualong-1 is a third-generation nuclear power technology with independent intellectual property rights in China, and it is also one of the most advanced nuclear power technologies in the world. Hualong-1 uses 177 sets of core fuel assemblies, double containment, active and passive combination of design features to meet the world's highest safety requirements and the latest technical standards.

Reported that after the Taipingling nuclear power project was put into operation, the annual increase in power supply accounted for about 7% of the current electricity consumption in the Greater Bay area.
