CTOnews.com, February 20, CCTV News reported that Yuanwang 5, China's third-generation space ocean-going survey ship, left the wharf of the China Satellite Maritime Survey and Control Department at 9: 00 this morning to carry out the maritime measurement and control mission in the scheduled sea area, successfully starting its first voyage in 2023.

Officials say the voyage will be the longest, most jet-lagged and longest voyage of Yuanwang 5 since 2020.

In order to ensure the complete success of the mission, before setting sail, Yuanwang 5 has completed more than 20 preparatory work of more than 10 categories, such as personnel rest and recuperation, material replenishment, equipment maintenance, route formulation, and meteorological observation, according to the plan, creating favorable conditions for the ship to sail smoothly.

It is divided into four systems: ship, measurement and control, communication and meteorology.

The captain of Yuanwang 5 is 222.2 meters wide, 40.85 meters high, has a draft depth of 8.2 meters, has a full displacement of 25000 tons, has a wind resistance of more than 12, and can navigate any sea area within 60 degrees of north and south latitudes.
