CTOnews.com February 20 news, Samsung display today announced that its 34-inch QD-OLED display has passed the Eyesafe display standard 2.0 certification.

Samsung said the display will be installed on a number of high-end displays, and the 34-inch QD-OLED display will emit less blue light than other displays, effectively protecting users' eyesight, reducing eye damage, comfort and safety.

Data show that Eyesafe is a certification system jointly developed by TUV and Eyesafe in Rheinland, Germany. Taking the blue light toxicity factor (BLTF) in visible light displayed on the test screen as the main index, only the products with blue light toxicity factor limit of 0.085 or less were certified.

CTOnews.com learned from Samsung's official information that Samsung has successfully maintained a 99% DCI-P3 gamut through the research and development of new materials to reduce harmful blue light while ensuring high color purity.

According to Samsung, the Eyesafe display standard 2.0 also introduces RPF (radiation protection factor of the display screen). Similar to the sun protection factor (SPF), the higher the RPF, the less harmful blue light. Samsung showed that the QD-OLED 34-inch display reached the RPF40 level in this certification, indicating that the harmful blue light impact is 0.079-0.083, much higher than the certified RPF35 level (the minimum standard).
