CTOnews.com, February 20, the latest IDC report shows that in the first half of 2022, the size of China's marginal cloud market totaled 3.07 billion yuan, an increase of 50.8 percent over the same period last year.

Among them, the market size of edge public cloud services, edge private cloud services and edge cloud solutions reached 17.1,4.4 and 920 million yuan respectively.

IDC said that by 2026, 50 per cent of CIO for Chinese enterprises will require cloud and telecom partners to provide secure cloud-to-edge connectivity solutions to ensure performance and consistency in data collection.

According to reports, edge cloud is a service or solution formed by service providers or users naturally extending public cloud services or private cloud solutions from a few or a single computing node (central node) to edge nodes based on business needs.

CTOnews.com learned that according to IDC's latest forecast, the marginal cloud market will have an average annual compound growth rate of more than 40% from 2021 to 2026. In addition to the transmission and distribution system based on edge cloud resources, the emergence of more and more multilateral cloud collaboration scenarios and the increased acceptance of the "as-a-service" model by traditional industry users continue to inject vitality into the market.
