CTOnews.com learned that SOFC belongs to the third generation of fuel cells. according to experts, SOFC is the new energy technology route with the highest power generation efficiency in the world, which is divided into three technical routes: electrolyte support, anode support and metal support, and metal support is the most advanced. Metal-supported SOFC technology uses metal plate as support, which has high mechanical strength, strong thermal shock resistance, high reliability, rapid start-up, many times of start and stop, and can use natural gas, hydrogen, coal gas, biomass gas, methanol and other fuels. SOFC using natural gas can reduce carbon by more than 30% compared with traditional natural gas generator sets.

Weichai's product is the world's first high-power metal-supported SOFC, with a net power generation efficiency of more than 60%, especially cogeneration efficiency of 92.55%, the highest in the world in large-scale SOFC systems.

This SOFC product has a system power of 120kW, supports modular installation and can be expanded to the megawatt level. The technical feature of this product is that its cogeneration efficiency is as high as 92.55%, which is the highest in the world in high-power SOFC systems; and the world takes the lead in adopting the most advanced new generation of metal support SOFC technology, which has significant advantages over traditional electrolyte support and anode support technology, such as low operating temperature and strong thermal shock resistance. In particular, it has achieved a technological breakthrough from 800 degrees Celsius to 600 degrees Celsius, and its system can start and stop times and start speed are significantly ahead of the existing international mainstream products, achieving technological transcendence.

SOFC products have been successfully applied in Weichai fuel Cell Industrial Park and Weifang Energy Group of Shandong Province, with a cumulative running time of more than 30,000 hours.
