Foreign media suspect that the whole water-cooled structure is mixed with copper and aluminum, which leads to serious electrochemical corrosion.

Now, American officials from Asustek responded to the Facebook post, but he did not respond to the problem with the VRM water-cooled structure of the ROG Z690 Fomula motherboard, saying only that the affected products would be replaced or fully refunded.

The CrossChill VRM cooling solution on the ROG Maximus Z690 Formula developed in cooperation with EK uses the new electroless nickel plating. In some configurations, the coating may rupture, resulting in electrochemical corrosion in the channel of the radiator. Currently, this issue only affects the Maximus Z690 Formula.

If you are affected by this issue, we recommend that you stop using Maximus Z690 Formula's CrossChill III VRM solution and contact Asustek customer support in your region. We are doing our best to take care of our loyal customers, so we currently offer two solutions for affected users: you can return the motherboard for a full refund or replacement.

If you are using a MAXIMUS Z690 FORMULA EK CROSSCHILL III VRM radiator / water cooling module (which is not part of the liquid cooling circuit), it will not affect or impair VRM cooling performance.

Asustek said that users who have never been connected to VRM water-cooled radiators should not have blockage problems, so if their problems are not affected by this design problem, they may not be able to get a full refund or replacement.
