CTOnews.com, February 20 (Xinhua)-- Apple's artificial intelligence summit is not as groundbreaking as expected, and it is more like a team-building activity that brings teams together without any revolutionary product technology announcement, according to a report.

The February artificial intelligence summit is Apple's first such large-scale gathering on its Apple Park campus in years, and while the event may be an opportunity for Apple to regain attention, Apple has chosen to keep a low profile.

CTOnews.com learned that the summit did discuss machine learning and advances in artificial intelligence within Apple, according to Mark Gurman's latest "Power On" newsletter for Bloomberg. In the brochure of the event, Apple's head of artificial intelligence commented: "Machine learning is developing faster than ever before, and our talents here are really at the forefront."

Despite the assertions, Gurman claimed he had never heard of anything that the summit might bring about as a "game changer" for consumers.

With ChatGPT and Google Bard dominating the headlines, Apple could have used the event to showcase the work of its employees internally. But apparently not, because Gurman believes that Apple did not show any form of the above-mentioned chatbot competitors, or anything related to the field.

While the event doesn't seem to make any waves in artificial intelligence, it at least shows that Apple is trying to hold offline events again after a few years of hiatus. This can be thought of as a trial run before other large public events, such as the summer WWDC or the offline media event of the product launch.
