China Railway Ziyang said that this batch of locomotives are the export field of narrow-gauge AC drive diesel locomotives in China, and they are the first batch of products that are produced nationally from spare parts to complete vehicles and have completely independent intellectual property rights. The locomotive "Heart" adopts 240series medium speed diesel engines independently developed by China Railway Ziyang Company, which has successfully replaced the imported diesel engines that export narrow gauge diesel locomotives have always relied on, and solved the long-standing problem of "neck jam" in this field. "Ziyang" series 240 medium speed diesel engines are advanced, mature and reliable in quality, and more than 3400 have been widely used in rail transit, power generation, shipping and other fields.

This batch of locomotives is a trunk freight diesel locomotive tailor-made for African users such as the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) in the light of the characteristics of the local railway operation environment. The locomotive adopts the world's advanced AC drive technology, which has many advantages, such as good adhesion, large traction force, high operation efficiency and so on. at the same time, it has achieved a breakthrough in vehicle weight lightweight technology, and successfully solved the problems of light axle weight and medium speed diesel engine. The design and development of locomotives also adopts the concept of simplified and platform design, which not only improves the reliability and maintainability of locomotives, but also provides a comfortable driving environment for drivers and passengers.

As a leading exporter of diesel locomotives in China, China Railway Ziyang Corporation has exported more than 1100 sets of various types of locomotives to 33 countries and regions around the world, accounting for more than 50% of China's exported diesel locomotives. Among them, more than 200 sets of various types of passenger and freight trunk lines and shunting diesel locomotives and more than 10 diesel emus have been delivered to 15 countries in Africa, covering areas with harsh environments such as high temperature, high humidity, high altitude and high wind and sand, helping local railway transport and economic development.
