After 5 years of efforts, it has achieved an engineering breakthrough in SOFC technology and fully controlled the key core technologies of the new generation of SOFC.

CTOnews.com query Weichai official website learned that Weichai's product is the world's first high-power metal support SOFC, with a net power generation efficiency of more than 60%, especially cogeneration efficiency of 92.55%, the highest in the world in large-scale SOFC systems, and won the on-site certification of T Ü V S Ü D Group, an international authoritative testing institution.

As a new generation of fuel cell, SOFC is a kind of power generation device that directly converts the chemical energy of fuel into electricity with high efficiency, low carbon and environmental protection at medium and high temperature. The battery has the advantages of flexible fuel, green low carbon and no use of precious metals, and can use natural gas, hydrogen, coal-to-gas, biomass gas, methanol and other fuels. SOFC using natural gas can reduce carbon by more than 30% compared with traditional natural gas generator sets.

Weichai released the world's first high-power metal support commercial SOFC products, the system power reached 120kW, support modular installation, can expand the power to the megawatt level, achieving a major technological breakthrough.

In addition, Weichai SOFC products claim to have the advantages of high cogeneration efficiency, good reliability, wide fuel adaptability and stable power energy output, which are suitable for industrial parks, buildings, data centers and other scenarios, and can provide green and low-carbon solutions for distributed energy and microgrid.

It is estimated that when the installed capacity of Weichai SOFC products reaches 1GW as distributed energy, compared with drawing electricity from the power grid, it can reduce carbon by about 2 million tons per year, and save about 600 million square meters of natural gas compared with traditional natural gas internal combustion engine generator sets; if biomass gas and green hydrogen are used as fuel, zero carbon emissions can be achieved and the national double carbon target will be promoted.
