Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip peak frequency is 3.2GHz, Samsung Galaxy S23 series Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 overclocked version peak clock speed is 3.36GHz. Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chips, expected to launch this year, will deliver better performance while reducing power consumption.

CTOnews.com understands that Snapdragon 8 flagship chips are usually launched in Q4 every year, which was previously early December and moved up to November 16 last year. Details of Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chips are unclear. According to the exposure score, the CPU performance of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip will be 25% higher than that of the Snapdragon 8 series SoC. Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy chip scored 1930 for single core and 6236 for multiple cores in Geekbench early testing.

It is reported that Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy will adopt 1+5+2 core configuration, one more energy efficiency core than the current Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy 1+4+3 setting. Thanks to TSMC's N4P process node, its energy efficiency may be 20% higher than Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
