CTOnews.com, February 18 (Xinhua) Samsung is making its conversational artificial intelligence assistant Bixby safer for children. With a new update, Bixby is now available for children's accounts on Samsung devices, providing child-friendly content and responding to queries in an age-appropriate manner.

Samsung's Bixby operations team confirmed that the feature is now only available in the United States and South Korea, but plans to release Bixby children's versions in more countries. The process will be gradual and so far there is no exact timetable or road map.

Bixby Children's Edition can be enabled through Samsung accounts after creating family groups and setting up children's accounts. Samsung officially announced that the feature applies to children under the age of 13, although this age limit may vary from country to country.

The children's version of Bixby is roughly the same as the version accessible to adults, but the content is planned for children. For example, children can ask Bixby questions, and conversational artificial intelligence will answer them in a way appropriate to the child's age.

CTOnews.com learned that Bixby Children's Edition can also tell stories, play music, and allow children to play games suitable for children. Judging from the operation of the Samsung children's function in One UI, the children's mobile games provided by Bixby are expected to be ad-free, will not track children's activities, and prevent unnecessary game purchase transactions.
