CTOnews.com, February 18, SpaceX first launched 51 Starlink satellites from the Falcon 9 rocket on the west coast this morning, and then launched the Inmarsat Imure 6F2 communications satellite into the geostationary transfer orbit on the east coast at 11:59 Beijing time.

This is SpaceX's 11th and 12th orbital launch mission this year, and the Falcon 9 first-stage booster has been launched nine and three times, respectively.

CTOnews.com inquiry found that this is the 24th global space launch this year, the 15th launch of the United States, the 205th launch of Falcon 9, the 134th successful recovery at sea, the 173rd successful recovery of core level 1, and the 146th launch of reusing Falcon 9.

Inmarsat Imur6F2 is a dual payload satellite that can transmit signals over L-band and Ka-band frequencies. A total of 20 Ka broadband beams are available, while L-band narrowband communication services are provided by a large umbrella antenna with an expansion diameter of 9 meters.

It is part of the future network ORCHESTRA of Inmarsat in the UK and will provide seamless, high-capacity, low-latency network connectivity for global mobile.

Inmarsat-6 F2 satellite is developed by Airbus Defense and Aerospace Company, using Eurostar Eurostar 3000E full electric push platform, full weight 5465kg, xenon about 1 ton, its Hall electric thruster is Russian-made SPT-140D, and equipped with two deployable solar panels, it is the same satellite of China's Asia-Pacific 6e.

According to reports, the satellite completed its location in September this year and is expected to start providing broadband communication services to land, sea and air users in the Atlantic region by the end of the year.
