CTOnews.com February 18 news, Apple is simplifying and improving the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max two models repair process. Apple said that starting this week, after the Face ID and TrueDepth problems occurred on both models, they could be repaired at Apple retail stores and Apple authorized service providers instead of replacing the entire iPhone.

The TrueDepth camera module includes Face ID and front-facing camera components, and Apple had no way to repair the TrueDepth module on the same machine. Therefore, once the module is damaged in the iPhone on hand, it means that the entire device must be replaced.

Apple began offering same-machine repairs for the TrueDepth module on the iPhone XS and subsequent models last year, and after the launch of the iPhone 14 series, it usually takes months to expand its support channels to perform certain repairs.

CTOnews.com learned from the 9to5Mac report that Apple announced in a memo to employees this week that the TrueDepth camera module on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max is now available for same-machine repair. This means that if Face ID or other parts of the TruthDepth module fail, Apple Store and authorized service providers can now replace only that component rather than the entire device.
