CTOnews.com, February 18 (Xinhua)-- YouTube channel DongleBookPro has released a video showing Apple's "special anniversary trophy" for its employees. In addition to the 10-year version previously reported by CTOnews.com, Apple offers 20 -, 30-and 40-year trophies.

Foreign technology media 9to5Mac has obtained some documents from a number of Apple employees detailing the company's anniversary award (Anniversary Awards) plan, including award pictures, production process and other details.

The Anniversary Award program mainly rewards senior Apple employees. The trophies were originally made of crystal, then switched to aluminum and stainless steel in 2019, with a new design.

Apple announced the new plan at a staff meeting in 2018, telling employees that "extraordinary milestones deserve extraordinary rewards." At the meeting, Deirdre O'Brien, vice president of Apple, said:

Apple employees devote themselves to their work every year. We are very grateful to all our employees, especially those who have made great contributions year after year. We would like to express our gratitude through these special awards.

CTOnews.com learned from the article that Apple's 10th and 20th anniversary trophies are made of aluminum, while 30-week and 40th anniversary trophies are made of stainless steel.

Apple designers and engineers have been developing the trophy for more than two years, involving the collaboration of industrial design, manufacturing design and other teams. The trophy will be released in 2019.

The 10th week and 20th anniversary trophies are made of the same recycled aluminum as Mac mini and MacBook Air. Apple says the trophies are made from 12-foot-long ingots and then cut into thin slices.

The 30th week and 40th anniversary trophies are made of solid stainless steel. The 30th anniversary trophy has lost weight: if it is solid stainless steel, it weighs about 35 pounds. It consists of two parts and then seamlessly welded together with a laser. The production of the 40th anniversary trophy is very similar, but the top and bottom are also seamlessly connected by a special color coating process.

There are about 25 to 30 steps in the production of each award, which does not include packaging.
