CTOnews.com Feb. 17-Bloomberg News reported Friday, citing people familiar with the matter, that Twitter Inc. has closed two of its three offices in India and asked employees to work from home.

The social media company closed its offices in New Delhi and Mumbai, but continued to operate its office in Bangalore, the southern technology hub, where most of its employees were engineers, the report said.

Bloomberg reported that Twitter, under new owner Elon Musk, laid off more than 90 percent of its 200-plus employees in India last year.

CTOnews.com has learned that Twitter ordered at least a dozen more job cuts at its Dublin and Singapore offices last month as part of a broader cost-cutting effort, and that the company cut about 3700 employees in early November.
