CTOnews.com February 17, Microsoft Vice President Ashok Kuppusamy revealed in the latest LinkedIn blog post that the custom pronoun (Pronouns) option will be enabled in Microsoft 365 in March, and users can set their own preferred names.

Customers are constantly asking us to add additional functionality for personal expression, and we are eager to use this feature in our own organization. This function has many uses, but its core is to create conditions to help prevent gender errors among transgender and non-binary people.

The impact of gender discrimination is well documented; inclusive products and services are a key factor in supporting a culture in which employees are respected and valued in the workplace. We thank the engineering and working teams of internal and external experts for bringing this feature to market.

Microsoft will begin adding custom alias for members of the organization who use Microsoft 365 in March.

For IT administrators, this feature is off by default and needs to be configured to turn it on.

For individual users, you can choose whether to enable it or not according to your own wishes.

Microsoft also said in its blog post that employees can share custom nicknames in Microsoft Teams meetings in the future.
