CTOnews.com, February 17 (Xinhua) iPhone users in the United States have added a new option of "5G Standalone" to their cellular network settings after upgrading to iOS 16.4 developer Preview. When this option is enabled, iPhone users can enjoy the maximum transmission speed of 3Gbps when using the network of T-Mobile operators.

T-Mobile announced the launch of a 5G Standalone (SA) network in November last year, with the highest transmission speed up to 3Gbps. For iPhone users using T-Mobile carrier networks, a new 5G SA option has emerged after upgrading the iOS 16.4 developer preview.

CTOnews.com learned that this option is on by default and is displayed only on iPhone 14 series models. T-Mobile 's Uncarrier is currently the only provider in the United States with 5G SA.
