The Odyssey OLED G8 monitor was scheduled to launch in the fourth quarter of 2022, but Samsung delayed it. Samsung focused on this product during CES 2023. The Odyssey OLED G8 monitor is now on sale, priced at $1499.99 (currently about 10275 yuan) in the United States.

Samsung combines its OLED and quantum dot technology to create the Odyssey OLED G8 display, which has a 34-inch 21:9 ratio, 1800R curvature, 3440x1440 resolution and the highest 175Hz refresh rate. In addition, Samsung's Odyssey OLED display has 10 bit color support, peak brightness of 1000 nits and ultra-low response time of 0.1ms. The display uses Samsung quantum dot technology to cover 99.3% of the DCI gamut. AMD FreeSync Premium provides excellent gaming performance.

CTOnews.com learned that the thinnest part of the 34-inch Odyssey OLED G8 is 3.9mm, with a metal frame design and a height adjustable bracket, and the rear core lighting can be synchronized with the game environment. In terms of interface, the Odyssey OLED G8 is equipped with Micro HDMI (2.1,1.4) and USB-C ports for multiple connections, as well as 5W stereo speakers.

The monitor doubles as a TV because it is pre-installed with Samsung's TizenOS TV platform and can access streaming applications such as Hulu, Netflix and Samsung TV Plus. A remote control is also provided in the box. It also supports Samsung Gaming Hub and supports streaming games from services such as Xbox Game Pass and NVIDIA GeForce Now.
