Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com, February 16 (Xinhua)-- following Samsung's launch of its flagship S23 series in February, DSCC Research conducted a periodic comparison of its previous generation S22 production and shipments with the newly released S23 series.

In the chart below, the DSCC report covers monthly production forecasts up to June 2023. Among them, the S22 series from 2021 to 2022 is compared with the S23 series from 2022 to 2023.

In the case of the S22 series, due to some supply chain problems, the initial shipments were small, so cyclically, the output of the S23 series in January 2023 was 113% higher than that of the S22 series in January 2022, based on the demand collected. It is expected that February 2023 will be 106% higher than the same period last year. In March, the output of the S23 series is expected to be lower than that of the S22 series in the same period.

Production of the S23 series is expected to be 35% higher than that of the S22 series in the first seven months (to June).

In comparing the S23 series with the S22 series through June, the report shows that the number of models has changed as follows, which will indicate Samsung's more optimistic expectations for the S23 series.

S23: 34% increase

S23 percent: 31% increase

S23 Ultra: 36% increase

CTOnews.com learned that DSCC's report last week also compared the same period production of the iPhone 14 series and the iPhone 13 series. Although the panel production of the iPhone 13 was initially high, the production of the iPhone 14 exceeded that of the iPhone 13 since August and has been ahead until January this year. The demand is stronger than expected. Apple said on its earnings call that supply is no longer an issue.

Although Apple may have some panel inventory, while other parts of its Pro model also showed a high inventory at the end of 2022, it is expected to be weak in the first quarter. The report shows that panel shipments of new models fell by 29% in January, and inventory was corrected. However, it is expected to lead to a further 14 per cent drop in panel shipments of new models in February. As a result, shipments of iPhone 14 series panels lagged behind the previous year's iPhone 13 in February, and similar results are expected in March.

But compared with similar products of iPhone 13, iPhone 14 Pro Max and iPhone 14 Pro have achieved dramatic growth.

Compared with similar products of iPhone 13, it has achieved significant growth. It is also worth noting that the Plus version does not guarantee a large share. At the same time, based on some end-consumer research, Apple users prefer improved cameras on professional models.

Through the comparison between the iPhone 14 series and the iPhone 13 series up to February, we can see the following quantitative changes.

IPhone 14 Pro Max: 43% growth

IPhone 14 Pro: 32% growth

IPhone 14: down 36%

IPhone 14 Plus vs. IPhone 13 Mini: 62% growth
