CTOnews.com, February 16 (Xinhua)-- Google said in a developer blog post released this month that it will greatly improve the access experience of internal browsers in Android apps. Google says it will improve the experience by split views to better handle multitasking, support for password management and auto-populating.

Android app developers currently have two main options when displaying web content: jump to the system's default browser to open links externally, and use WebViews technology to display web content inside the app.

The disadvantage of the first option is that the user needs to jump outside the application and call the system's default browser to access it. This interrupts the user experience, and the user may forget the session or close the original application that is opening the link. CTOnews.com learned from the blog post that Google will introduce the following two features to improve the in-app browsing experience:

Better multitasking by splitting views

Google will add some custom tab features to the developer's tool library. Developers can display Web content in the form of partial coverage in the application interface. Users of the application can interact with it and loaded web content at the same time.

Currently, only Chrome browsers support this feature. However, Google said it "will support more browsers as soon as possible." Browsers that do not support this feature display a full-screen customization tab.

Developers can customize the height of web content in their applications, and developers have complete control over the coverage of the application. Users of the application can expand the view to take advantage of the full-screen size.

Support for password management and automatic filling

The second new feature adds password management and auto-fill support for the in-application browsing experience. Currently, it is only supported by Chrome. Users can use the Chrome function to log in to the website using the password stored in the browser password manager and the auto-fill feature to improve the data filling in the fields displayed in the browser in the application.

Application creators can benefit from this approach in a number of ways, including making it easier for users to log in to the network services displayed in the application.
