February 16 news, according to foreign media reports, TSMC official website news shows that the company's board of directors has approved the distribution of NT $60.702 billion (currently about 13.719 billion yuan, US $2.003 billion) to employees, will be issued in July.

According to information published on TSMC's website, the distribution of profits of US $2.003 billion is part of the 2022 performance awards and profit sharing approved by the board of directors.

TSMC's board of directors approved performance awards and profit sharing totaling NT$121.404 billion, or US$4.006 billion, with performance awards and profit sharing split in half, of which performance awards were issued after the end of each quarter last year.

Although TSMC's performance awards and profit sharing to employees exceed $4 billion, they are still a small fraction of last year's net profit. TSMC's earnings report showed that they had revenue of 75.881 billion US dollars last year and net profit of 34.084 billion US dollars.

However, considering the number of TSMC employees, the average performance reward and profit share per employee is expected to be around US $50,000. TSMC hasn't released its annual report for 2022, so it doesn't know how many employees it had at the end of last year. But their previous annual reports showed that at the end of 2019 - 2021, they had 51,300 full-time employees, 56,800 full-time employees and 65,200 full-time employees. Last year, they had 3nm process mass production. Their employees are expected to continue to increase, with about $57,000 per capita in performance awards and profit sharing.

Samsung Electronics 'chip business unit and SK Hynix have also decided to pay high performance bonuses and profit sharing to employees before TSMC's board approves the performance bonus and profit sharing plan.

Foreign media reported at the beginning of the month that employees in the equipment solutions department where Samsung's electronic chip business is located received a performance bonus of 50% of annual salary in January;SK Hynix employees will receive a profit share of 41% of annual salary.
