CTOnews.com, February 16, according to the website of the Shanghai Municipal Transportation Commission, in order to further enhance the service guarantee capacity of electric vehicle charging infrastructure, improve the supporting construction of public parking lot (warehouse) charging facilities, improve the service level of public charging piles, and strengthen the daily management of charging facilities. The Shanghai Municipal Transportation Commission and other departments jointly issued the measures for the Construction and Management of Shanghai Public parking lot (Depot) charging facilities (hereinafter referred to as the measures).

The measures require that from April 1, the new (modified and expanded) public parking lots (garages) should be equipped with charging facilities in accordance with the standard of not less than 15% of the total parking spaces in Class I areas, no less than 12% of the total parking spaces in Class II areas, and not less than 10% of the total parking spaces in Class III areas. The proportion of fast-charging parking spaces should not be less than 30% of the total rechargeable parking spaces.

The first category includes areas within the inner ring, municipal deputy centers (including Xujiahui, Huamu, Jiangwan-Wujiaochang, Zhenru area), five new cities, Expo areas and key new energy development areas (including Jiading International Automobile City, Shanghai International Tourism Resort, Hongqiao Business District).

The second category of areas include: except for the first category of areas outside the inner and outer ring, the suburbs of the new town, Minhang District, Jiading District, Pudong New area.

The three types of areas include: areas other than those mentioned above.

In addition, the measures point out that the proportion of parking spaces with charging function in existing public parking lots (garages) should reach more than 5% (inclusive) of the total parking spaces, and fast charging parking spaces should reach more than 1.5% (inclusive) of the total parking spaces.

CTOnews.com inspected the "measures" and found that the power of charging facilities equipped with charging parking spaces should not be lower than that of 7kW, and that of fast charging parking spaces should not be lower than that of 60kW.
