Microsoft said that in order to make it easier to repair key internal components, the Surface design team has improved the way the display is glued to the fuselage, using an adhesive that is easier to disassemble and clean, and no longer need to heat around the screen in advance, reducing glass damage caused by screen removal during maintenance, making it easy to keep it intact and re-use.

For the fixation of internal lithium batteries, the commercial version of Surface Pro 9 has also been improved to facilitate replacement, so that it can be easily removed by unscrewing all the screws.
