Since 2021, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has carried out gigabit city construction action, and various localities have accelerated organizational construction to vigorously promote double gigabit network construction, application innovation and industrial development. at present, 110 cities across the country have reached the gigabit city construction standard.

At present, 110cities across the country have reached the standard of gigabit urban construction, which has helped to guide and promote the development of "double gigabit" networks in various cities in our country. at present, 2.312 million 5G base stations have been built, and the gigabit optical network has the ability to cover more than 500 million households. Gigabit broadband users reached 91.75 million, and 5G mobile phone users reached 560 million.
