CTOnews.com, February 15, according to The Information, a source said Microsoft fired a team of about 150 employees last week to persuade medium-sized companies to use cloud services such as Azure server leasing and Microsoft 365Productivity applications.

The team's layoffs, or digital cloud acquisitions, suggest that the plan is not as smooth as Microsoft expected, and that the company's sales have slowed sharply in recent quarters.

CTOnews.com learned that the move is part of a 4.5 per cent layoff of Microsoft's about 220000 employees, which will also affect subsidiaries including LinkedIn and GitHub, as well as relatively new teams such as the Industrial Metasonic product group and sales.

According to Microsoft's results in the second half of 2022, the company's new growth engine cloud computing business has been showing signs of slowing, but its performance has always been better than the average forecast of Wall Street analysts.
