The reporting center of the Central Internet Information Office said that in January 2023, the reporting center of the Central Internet Information Office directed the national online letter reporting departments at all levels and the main website platforms to accept 13.218 million reports of illegal and bad information such as pornography, gambling, infringement and rumors, down 9.6 percent from the previous month and 10.3 percent from the same period last year.

Of these, the reporting center of the Central Internet Information Office accepted 579000 reports, down 13.7% from the previous month and an increase of 58.5% over the same period last year. 666000 reports were accepted by local online reporting departments, down 13.8% from the previous month and 32.1% from the same period last year. 11.974 million reports were accepted by major websites nationwide, down 9.2% from the previous month and 10.6% from the same period last year.

CTOnews.com learned from the data released by the reporting Center of the Central Internet Information Office that among the reports accepted by the major website platforms across the country, the major commercial website platforms accounted for 53.3%, reaching 6.385 million.
