CTOnews.com, February 15 (Xinhua)-- Hyundai (Hyundai) and its subsidiary Kia (Kia) recently offered free anti-theft security updates in millions of their cars. The reason for this is that the "Kia Challenge" activity, which spread wildly on TikTok in August last year, can be stolen with only a USB line.

CTOnews.com recalled that the "Kia Challenge" campaign, launched by the theft ring "the Kia Boyz" on TikTok, showed that anyone with only a USB cable could force their way into Hyundai or Kia.

It is not clear exactly how many Hyundai and Kia cars have been stolen as a result of the "Kia Challenge" campaign, but media figures show as many as thousands.

Hyundai and Kia now provide free anti-theft software updates for affected cars, with an estimated coverage of 3.8 million Hyundai cars and 4.5 million Kia vehicles, a total of 8.3 million vehicles will be updated.
