CTOnews.com February 15, Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway disclosed its position report for the fourth quarter ended December 31, 2022 on February 14, local time. The total market value of the position increased to $299.008 billion from $296.097 billion in the previous quarter, increasing its stake in Apple 333900 shares, as well as buying Louisiana-Pacific and Paramount Global.

It is worth noting that Berkshire Hathaway also significantly reduced its stake in TSMC by 51.768 million shares, by 86%; by 71.1174 million shares in United Bank of America, by 91%; and by 7.4248 million shares in Activision Blizzard, by 12%. Berkshire Hathaway also reduced its holdings of 2.3835 million Chevron shares in the quarter.

CTOnews.com noted that TSMC rose 1.9 per cent to $97.96 in regular trading on Tuesday and fell 4.3 per cent to $93.74 in after-hours trading.

Berkshire significantly reduced its stake in the company just a quarter after Jiancang TSMC. Berkshire's position in TSMC totaled $4.2 billion at the end of the third quarter. Given that TSMC rose about 10 per cent in the fourth quarter of last year to close at $74 by the end of this year, Berkshire Hathaway could make a profit. But so far, Berkshire has missed the quarter's sharp rise in equity.
