CTOnews.com learned that as a key project of the country's 14th five-year Plan, the third phase of the 900MW nuclear heating project of the "warm Nuclear Project" is the world's largest single-unit steam extraction heating project, using nuclear zero-carbon heating technology with completely independent intellectual property rights, and started in July 2022.

At present, the "warm Nuclear No. 1" nuclear heating source project has completed an investment of 390 million yuan. The construction of heat source in the 900MW nuclear heating project is progressing steadily. Using the refueling window of Unit 2, the unit body project has been completed, and the heating network and pumping station in the plant are being built with high quality as planned. The project is scheduled to be put into operation by the end of 2023, when Rushan cross-regional nuclear energy heating will be realized, with an annual heating capacity of 9.7 million gig coke, and the heating area will reach Qingyanwei area, meeting the heating needs of 1 million residents, while replacing raw coal consumption of 900000 tons and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 1.65 million tons.

The construction of the Haiyang-Rushan supporting long-distance pipeline network project is mainly related facilities in Haiyang City, with a total investment of about 700 million yuan, including 23 kilometers of long-distance heating pipelines and a designed heating capacity of 13 million square meters. At the same time, a heat source distribution center is built, which uses intelligent dispatching management and control platform for parameter monitoring, data analysis and intelligent management and control, and timely temperature control according to weather changes to achieve intelligent heating, scientific heating and stable heating. The heating pipeline in Rushan City is invested and built by Rushan City, and the long-distance heating pipe network in Haiyang section will be connected with the pipe network in Rushan, providing a clean and stable heat source for Rushan residents and effectively ensuring the heating needs of the masses in winter.

As the forerunner and demonstration of the comprehensive utilization of nuclear energy in China, Shandong Nuclear Power has formulated and implemented the "three-step" strategy of nuclear energy heating, and took the lead in the completion and operation of the first phase of "warm Nuclear" Phase I "park-level" nuclear energy heating project in 2019. It was named "National Energy Nuclear Energy heating Commercial demonstration Project" by the State Energy Administration. The second phase of the "county-level" nuclear heating project was completed in 2021, helping Haiyang City to become the first "zero-carbon" heating city in the country. Compared with before nuclear heating, the PM2.5 in the air during the heating season decreased by 16%, and the excellent and good weather rate increased by 17%. The third phase of 900MW "regional" nuclear heating project is under construction. Up to now, "Nuancore No. 1" has provided a total of 4.1 million kilograms of clean heat, which is equivalent to saving 370000 tons of raw coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 680000 tons, and has achieved remarkable social and environmental benefits. at the same time, it has expanded the environmental capacity space for the development of local industry.
