1. NAT:

1. Dynamic NAT (address reuse): when an internal private IP is translated into a public network IP address, the correspondence of the IP is uncertain. In other words, as long as you specify which internal addresses can be translated by NAT, and which legal IP addresses can be used as external addresses, it can be translated dynamically. You can also use multiple sets of legitimate addresses.

2. Static NAT: one-to-one, the private IP address of the internal network is translated into a public legal IP address. The correspondence of IP addresses is one-to-one and is constant.

3. PAT (Port Multiplexing): Port address translation, which changes the source IP address and source port of outbound packets and carries out port translation, that is, port address translation adopts port multiplexing. All hosts in the internal network can share a legitimate external IP address to access the Internet. Save IP address resources to the maximum extent.

2. Dynamic NAT:

Source NAT: conversion from private network to public network (private network accesses public network, destination ip remains the same, only source ip is converted)

Destination NAT: translation from public network to private network (public network accesses private network, source address remains unchanged, only destination ip is translated), which is also called port mapping.

3. Application scenarios:

1. Dynamic NAT

Source NAT (commonly known as NAT): used in the case of local area network access to the Internet, with multiple public network ip.

Destination NAT (commonly known as port mapping): applied to the external service (web service) scenario of setting up a local area network. A public network ip can provide N (port number) services.

2. Static NAT: applied to LAN external service (web service) scenario, a public network ip can only provide one service.

3. PAT: when there is only one public network ip, it is used in the local area network.

Summary: NAT is divided into dynamic NAT, static NAT and PAT, while dynamic NAT is divided into source NAT and destination NAT.
