Temu, an American shopping app owned by e-commerce pinduoduo, broadcast an advertisement during this year's US Super Bowl, spending a total of several million US dollars.

It is not common for Chinese e-commerce to spend millions of dollars on advertising during the Spring Festival Gala Super Bowl in the United States. This highlights pinduoduo's ambition to enter the US e-commerce market.

The Temu ad was broadcast on the sidelines of a game between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday local time and was titled "Shopping like billionaires." The ad is about a young woman who is surprised by the low-cost clothes and accessories offered by Temu.

The ad said, "the price surprised me. I feel rich. I feel like a billionaire. I'm shopping like a billionaire."

Pinduoduo often attracts consumers by offering discounted products and currently has a market capitalization of about $116 billion.

It is reported that pinduoduo quietly launched the cross-border shopping website Temu in the US market in September last year. The app quickly became popular after its launch and now ranks second in the Apple App Store and number one in the Google App Store.

Total trading volume of Temu goods reached a record $46 million in the week to January 29, according to market research firm YipitData.

Temu sells everything from fashion to electronics. The company launched promotions during the Super Bowl, offering time-limited and free delivery, as well as so-called "race day discounts."

Pinduoduo said on Monday that shipments to the Canadian market would begin this month.

Many technology companies are involved in global e-commerce. Byte jump, the parent company of popular short video app TikTok, launched a fashion website called If Yooou last year, which already sells goods in markets such as the UK, Spain, Italy, Germany and France.
