Jointly drafted by Tongji University, Beijing Institute of Technology, Shanghai Nassen, Schaeffler, Asia-Pacific Mechatronics, Lianchuang Electronics, Pan-Asia Technology Center, Bethel, BYD, Shanghai Huizhong, BAIC, Automobile and Home, Xiangjiang Intelligence and other universities, suppliers, mainframe factories and testing institutions, a series of group standards (hereinafter referred to as the "series standards") of self-driving passenger vehicle on-line chassis performance requirements and test methods have been officially released.
As the industry's first series of standards for on-line chassis, this series of standards puts forward the performance required for level 3 and level 4 autopilot on-line chassis, unifies the performance evaluation index, and defines the test method. This series of standards consists of the following three parts:

The automobile wire-controlled chassis is mainly composed of four parts: by-line steering, by-line braking, by-line drive (including by-line shift, by-line throttle) and by-line suspension. The on-line chassis uses electrical signals to replace the traditional mechanical, hydraulic or pneumatic forms to realize the steering, braking and forward control of the vehicle. Compared with the traditional chassis, the wire-controlled chassis can achieve efficient and accurate active control of the actuator, which is the cornerstone of automatic driving. Steering by wire, brake by wire and drive by wire are the core products of autopilot executive end.
However, the benchmark of the current on-line chassis system industry is not clear. The chassis performance of different brands and different models is different. In the process of mass production of autopilot system, repeated adaptive development is needed for different performance vehicles, resulting in a waste of resources. At the same time, as the actuator of autopilot, the performance of wire chassis also directly affects the effect and safety of autopilot. In order to achieve high-level autopilot, what kind of performance requirements should be met by wire chassis. In this regard, various institutions and manufacturers have different evaluation indicators and evaluation methods for the on-line chassis, and there is no efficient cooperation between upstream and downstream, so the same model needs to be tested and verified separately in the hands of different development institutions.
In view of the above industry problems, Baidu Apollo and SAIC led and jointly issued a series of group standards, which are suitable for the development and testing of level 3 and level 4 self-driving passenger car line control chassis, and put forward requirements for self-driving passenger car wire control chassis from three aspects: general requirements (functional requirements, interface requirements, etc.), performance requirements (basic performance and system switching performance) and test methods.
CTOnews.com learned that up to now, Baidu Apollo L4 autopilot operation test mileage has exceeded 45 million kilometers and has 3477 self-driving patents, ranking first in the world for four consecutive years. Baidu's self-driving travel service platform, radish fast run, has become the world's largest self-driving travel service provider, with a cumulative order volume of more than 1.4 million.
Baidu Apollo said that Baidu Apollo will also continue to expand its business in 2023, launching an additional 200 fully driverless operating vehicles nationwide.
