CTOnews.com February 13 news, MediaTek's latest entry-level chip Helio G36 has been released. This is actually a down-frequency version of the Helio G37 chip.

The Cortex-A53 core frequency of the Helio G36 chip reduces the 100Mhz and now runs on 2.2GHz instead of the previous 2.3GHz. The remaining specifications show that there is no difference between the old chip and the newly released chip.

MediaTek's Helio G36 chip is expected to be available on gaming phones to be released in India. Last year, the Helio G37 chip made its debut on the Moto G22, and no manufacturer has announced that it will use the Helio G36 chip for the first time.

CTOnews.com learned that MediaTek Helio G36 chip uses 12nm FinFET technology, which can support 5000 megapixel camera, 90Hz display and MediaTek HyperEngine 2.0 Lite game engine, support dynamic allocation of CPU and GPU and memory resources, support global dual 4G connections, and intelligently predict the concurrency of Wi-Fi and LTE.

MediaTek's Helio G36's eight-core Arm Cortex-A53 processor provides the peak frequency of 2.2GHz for entry-level gaming smartphones. IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU provides a combination of performance and power efficiency to support LPDDR4x memory up to 8GB.

MediaTek's Helio G36 integrates a global 4G LTE Cat-7 modem (2 CC-CA), supports basic dual 4G SIM, and allows VoLTE / ViLTE services to be provided over two connections. MediaTek TAS 2.0 Smart Antenna technology actively detects signal quality to provide the best connection with the lowest power consumption.

There is also a dedicated GNSS subprocessor that provides fast hot TTFF with accurate results and ultra-low power operation. The integrated Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5 support simultaneous coexistence, significantly improving throughput and connection reliability when using Wi-Fi and wireless peripherals such as headsets and game consoles.
