CTOnews.com, February 13 (Xinhua) China CRRC recently held its first train delivery cum "Public Open Day" at the Trindade subway station in Porto, Portugal, according to the official Wechat account of CRRC, which is the public debut of China's first urban rail vehicle project exported to the European Union.

The new subway train is jointly designed by CRRC Tangshan Company and Porto Metro Company, adhering to the design concept of green intelligence, comfort and safety, and has the characteristics of lightweight, low energy consumption and intelligence. it is a new generation of subway train in line with European standards.

The new subway train can be fully compatible with existing Porto vehicles on the line at the same time. After the vehicles are put into operation, it will greatly improve the operational efficiency of the Porto subway network, reduce operating costs, and make the travel of Porto citizens more convenient and comfortable.

CTOnews.com learned that in addition to the subway train on display today, four trains will arrive in Porto in April. The subway company has made corresponding preparations to ensure the compatibility of the vehicle and existing equipment. After completing the relevant tests, the first train is scheduled to be put into operation in May. The new car can run not only on the existing lines, but also on the new subway lines in the future.

Portuguese Environment Minister Duarte Cordeiro said that 18 new subways from China will arrive and be put into use one after another, which will increase subway capacity and further enhance the travel experience of Porto citizens.
